I started gardening again in May 2009 after I once quitted it for quarter a century since I wilted so many plants. Now I take care of orchids (mainly Cattleya and Vanda (more accurately Neofinetia) hybrids), fuchsias etc. in Nagasaki, Japan.

Jin, G. et al. Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA Analysis for Establishing Phylogenetic Relationship among Cattleya walkeriana Gardn., Cattleya nobilior Rchb. f. and Cattleya loddigesii Lindl.Engei Gakkai Zasshi (園芸学会雑誌) 73(5), 496-502, 2004-09-15
The article strongly suggests that Cattleya walkeriana pendentive is genuine, not a hybrid with C. loddigesii or C. nobilior.
The Atlanta Orchid Society Bulletin. Vol. 48 No. 7, p. 4, 2007
Introduces Cattleya (former Sc.) Beaufort which is pronounced "Byew'-fert", not "BO-fort" together with some intriguing features.
Saint Augustine Orchid Society. Vol. 3 Issue 11, p. 4, November 2008
The bulletin also states that Sc. Beaufort is pronounced "Bufort" as "Southerners" do whereas Slc. Ann's Beau is pronounced "Bo".
